No two children think and learn the same way and the theory of Multiple Intelligence suggests that each individual has eight different types of intelligences. We in our school wanted to explore the Intelligences beyond the realm of classroom and hence decided to organize a number of Inter House Competitions throughout the year pertaining to the Multiple Intelligences

“If the mind is intensely eager, everything can be accomplished – mountains can be crumbled into atoms,” said Swami Vivekananda. A number of activities and functions which were organized throughout the year to ensured a better personality development among students as we believe that each child is unique and possesses inherent potential. In Alagar Students always come first.

THE OVER ALL WINNER FOR THE YEARWAS DIAMOND TEAM.

Assemblies

A high quality school assembly is one of the most important aspects of a school’s curriculum. Its potential to nurture a positive school ethos that stresses care for the self, others and the pursuit of all forms of excellence should not be underestimated. It powerfully nurtures the development of intrapersonal intelligence. School assemblies add value to a school’s curriculum creating a sense of community. Students and adults focus on one goal that is expressed through the assembly presentation such as peace, honesty positive thinking or conversation with God.

Assemblies make a positive contribution to the pupil self development. They also pave way for value based education at the same time sensitizing the students to global issues.

Our assemblies contain:

  • a central focus that helps pupils reflect on the theme.
  • Music by the choir that helps to create a calm and reflective mood.
  • The leader/s of the assembly who carry the theme forward with help of speech, thought, skit music and dance.

This year we conducted assembly class wise with the theme“ Keep Moving”

Co Curricular Activities

Co-curricular activities prepare students practically for the future. The normal curriculum can only go so far as to teach and educate students about academic theories. But students whose only experience of school is one of rigid academic study may not be able to apply what they have learned in practice. If the co-curriculum was given an equal footing in student life there will be an improvement in the student ability to grasp things as a whole, because students will have received a more rounded education. Co-curricular activities are particularly good at providing opportunities for students to work in teams, to exercise leadership, and to take the initiative themselves.

Whole range of co-curricular activities accompanies the course studies at APS. These activities serve a two-fold purpose in furthering the personality development in a student and also in paving the way for recognizing and nurturing individual talents. Our students look forward to these classes- from quizzing to web designing, weaving to origami or cooking up freshly made chaat to name a few.

KINDERGARTEN

We continued with chrysalis curriculum, as a teacher of young children, it is vital to understand how to communicate with them and give essential feedback in a positive and constructive way. It is common knowledge that praise and encouragement are high motivators to help children respond the way we want. It builds confidence, self-worth and helps them grow in the knowledge of what is right and wrong, as well as making positive choices about their behavior, so to acquire this knowledge chrysalis conducted the art of communication with kids and our teachers participated for the same.
